Everything about this product (in my case a MyVIC20) is top quality, from the custom made key-caps & Cherry MX-Blue switches to the case itself & drive chassis. Even the box is stunning in quality - impossible not to smile upon unpacking it, especially for those who remember the original from the 1980's! It's hard to believe that my 2021 'VIC20' has over 2 million times the RAM of its ancestor. The MyRetroComputer YouTube channel and others feature some clear instructional videos to show you what you need in order to build a mini-ITX based machine to suit your own needs & budget. Sean answered my email queries quickly & clearly and the machine, once my order was processed, arrived 48 hours later, including passing through EU/Irish customs. SMS notifications from the carrier allowed me to pay import duty online quickly and so minimise delays in customs. This was not cheap - but it was worth it to me, as the product will be getting daily use. These products are high quality and evoke - as others have said - the perfect amount of nostalgia, whilst being equally suitable for retro-gaming/emulation, tech hobbyists, or practical/professional daily use. In my case, a little of each. Thank you, Sean & Team!

The generic: Shipped in a timely manner, and shipping was pretty quick, especially going from the UK to the west coast of the US. Well packaged, arrived in perfect condition. Excellent! Specifics: I have lamented for years not getting one of the barebones kits from Commodore USA when it was an ongoing project. After it folded nearly over-night, I thought my chance was gone for good, and while I would periodically go hunting for them on ebay etc., they seemed to be completely non-existant. Apparently those who did purchase them were not letting go of them! A month or two back I came across a video on YouTube from MyRetroComputer, and discovered that they were now in ownership of the back stock, design, etc. and were once again selling the 'barebones' kits! This was when I learned (or perhaps re-learned after forgetting) that the founder of Commodore USA had passed away, leading to the untimely demise of the company. Obviously I was ecstatic to see someone with passion for that vision was reviving the project, and was happy to support them when I could afford to. A note - they really aren't kidding about the tight tolerances and component selection! I ordered one pico - style PSU - that didn't fit. Waiting on two other variants, that I hope WILL fit. May also be that my motherboard is a bit chunky (Hope not!) - but this is in no way the case nor MyRetroComputer's fault - it is the price of being 'adventurous' with my build. If it works though, I will have an 8 core/16 thread Ryzen cpu (Still at 65w TDP, I DID follow that spec very thoroughly!) with 32 gigs of RAM and a lovely, LOVELY cherry blue keyboard all crammed into a C64 breadbin. While the breadbin design is actually one of my least favorite retro computer designs (and I do have an entire basement full of them to play with!) it is incredibly iconic, and makes a beautiful modern all-in-one, thanks to the current crop of insane silicon offered by AMD (which, incidentally, was not available until well after C-USA was no more.) All in all, I cannot thank MyRetroComputer enough for bringing back this amazing product, and I look forward to seeing where they take the concept in the future! I also look forward to purchasing another one or two, as the small form factor and amazing keyboard built in make this a perfect solution for places I might normally stick a laptop - my electronics workbench, for example - or my Ham radio shack. Did I mention that the box is gorgeous, and looks right at home amongst my collection of 80's era computrons? TLDR; The quality, fit & finish, and value are all incredible. Considering the cost of a decent case, not to mention the cost of a good mechanical keyboard (Yes, I know that you can now find cheap mechanicals under 50 USD online, and even those are way better than rubber dome anything) and this is an absolute steal!

This is a truly marvellous product. The VIC 20 case and feel of the keyboard is just brilliant - its like being transported back in time and yet the inner workings can be of your choice. Excellent communication from Sean at Retro Computers and the order to doorstep experience is just perfect. The product arrived in really good packaging and was brilliant to build. My son and I are in Retro heaven with our VIC 20 case
